Two postcards through postcrossing

TraveWho said 13 was unlucky? Two postcards arrived on July 13.

The first was from Jen of the USA.
It features the Seattle Space Needle, a 604-foot tall tower built for the 1962 World's Fair. Construction began only the year before the Fair and it was completed in April 1962. The tower has 25 lightning rods to prevent lightning damage.

The second was from Sefora of Malta.
According to a strong local tradition, during the persecution of Christians decreed by the Roman Emperor Trajanus Decius (249-251 AD), St. Agatha fled from Sicily and took refuge in Malta. A natural cave built underneath Malta’s oldest parish church was altered into a crypt, typical of the underground Christian cemeteries of the time. The subterranean catacombs are very extensive and hold numerous galleries and graves of different types. It was originally located on the outskirts of the ancient Roman town of Melite (today's Rabat) in a period covering the mid-Third to the early Seventh Century AD - Melite being in antiquity the  administrative capital of the Maltese islands. The St. Agatha Catacombs has been submitted to the UNESCO Tentative list.
